About Me

I Graduated from the State University Of New York (Buffalo) with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Computer Design.  Though my educational background is in electronics and computer hardware design, my working career migrated towards software development.

I was a founding partner in two companies that develop large transaction processing systems (Applied Communications Inc. (now ACI Worldwide) and Baldwin Hackett & Meeks Inc.).

I am now retired. In addition to keeping up with four grandchildren, I spend most of my time working on the design and development of the signal system and its components.  I design and manufacture all the printed circuit boards and other hardware.  I do all of the firmware development as well as the PC-based software (SComm) used in the system.

I also try to find time to run my 1.6″ scale Union Pacific Northern #844 steam locomotive and it’s rolling stock.

I am also developing a “Automatic Leveler/Tamper Machine” that will autonomously level and tamp 7.5″ gauge track.  It will automatically advance from tie to tie at a rate of about 4 seconds to level and tamp each tie … but that’s another story …
